Proper Insulation is Key to Thermal Efficiency

Winter is just a few weeks old and already record snow has blanketed parts of the country. These extreme weather conditions are why both government and private groups are driving initiatives to improve building energy efficiency.

While waterproofing membranes and air and vapor barriers play a significant role in the energy system of the building envelope, insulation is also vital to creating a total building envelope that will reduce long-term energy costs. “Insulation Basics”
Insulation choice is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Over the years, however, veteran building pros have discovered polyiso foam board insulation is the best choice for superior insulation and weatherization due to its high R-value and fire-resistant qualities.
