Not all glass-mat sheathings are created equal

Over the last few years many sheathing manufacturers have introduced new glass-mat sheathings. As their use has become more widespread, installers have noticed significant performance differences when sheet-and liquid-applied products are installed over these new substrates. We've noticed them as well, so we asked our R&D team to take a look at what is going on.

After examining surface characteristics of the top selling commercially available glass-mat sheathing products, CCW scientists discovered that microscopic surface characteristics affect fluid applied thickness and contact adhesive coverage rates.
